What an unexpected happening here in Minneapolis! Krissy drove over the bridge 20 minutes before it collapsed. Praise the Lord she's safe. Our prayers go out to all the families and loved ones of those who died.
Here's an update on our Minnesota adventures....yesterday we hung around the house, did a bit of shopping, and then went out for a night on the town. We had a fabulous burger at a place called Champps and then walked around the city stopping at different places. Greger showed us where he works and he helped a pregnant Indian woman parallel park her car! We went to a place that had rooftop lawn bowling however they were finished with it when we arrived. Looked like something we would have enjoyed. It was delightful for just the 4 of us to hang out together.
Today we got up early and headed to a place called Taylor Falls for hiking. We lunched in an old-fashioned diner/ice cream place and then headed to Wisconsin. We were right on the St. Croix/Mississippi river where Minnesota and Wisconsin are divided and close to where the Miss. River begins. The scenery was breathtaking. The photos do not do it justice. I could have stayed there all day. The weather was PERFECT and the refreshing breeze was hypnotizing. Josiah hadn't napped all day so after a few trails he was "done." Andreas and I took turns hiking different trails. OH I LOVE HIKING!!! There just isn't much excitement "hiking" the beach sand in Florida. LOL After hiking we visited a town call Lundstrom. It is where the first Swedish settlers were in Minnesota. There are Swedish flags all over, Swedish stores, Swedish signs - it was so neat! We walked around and just took in the scenery, browsed stores, and enjoyed the great weather. A fantastic day all around!
Now we're packing up getting ready to go back to humidity. Ugh. We are so grateful for Greger and Krissy and we will miss them terribly. Hopefully they will come visit in the NEAR future!
Hiking!
